IS IT REALLY CELLULITE? HOW TO RECOGNISE (AND TREAT) IT

A GUIDE TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT WHEN IT COME TO THIGHS AND BUTTOCKS, DISPEL SOME FALSE MYTHS AND ABOVE ALL MAKE SURE THAT THE TERM “CELLULITE” IS NOT USED INDESCRIMINATELY.
You will be asking yourselves how to recognise cellulite and what can be defined “fibrous cellulite” and “oedematous cellulite”.
I believe it useful to write this post because considering the number of questions you ask about slim_me, I realise it’s not that simple.
I have made lots of videos about cellulite offering advice and remedies, which I suggest you watch if you missed them.
But now we will take a look at the most common mistakes that, despite the videos, tests, long-winded explanations, posts and even a book, we all too often make when analysing our own legs.
HOW TO RECOGNISE CELLULITE
In order to better understand the issue, get ready for a compelling series of photographs.
Mistaking adipose tissue for cellulite
More specifically: if you are 10-15 kilos overweight, what you see is not cellulite but adipose tissue, and it is impossible to establish what is one thing and what is the other because “lipoedema”, or fluid stagnation, often forms due to the fact that the enlarged adipose cells compress the microcirculation and prevent it from draining extracellular fluid (which is what is often mistaken for water retention).
Example of lipoedema:
Mistaking saddlebags for cellulite
Saddlebags are localised fat deposits and although fibrous cellulite often forms on saddlebags, the key to overcoming that cellulite is closely linked to eliminating or reducing the localised fat deposits.
This is a PURE localised fat deposit:
What does oedematous cellulite look like?
This, on the other hand, is an example of oedematous cellulite (with fluid stagnation) with a localised fat deposit (after all, we realised that misfortunes never come alone years ago, when pimples and premenstrual syndrome started to appear with our periods).
The cellulite on saddlebags is harder, which is why we call it fibrous cellulite. In the other parts of the legs, removing the fluid brings an instant improvement, but when it comes to saddlebags, in addition to removing the fluid, we also need “defibrosing” or “lipolytic” treatments (ultrasonic cavitation, roller technique, etc.).
How can you tell whether cellulite is oedematous?
From the doughiness of the tissue. This is what I mean:
Don’t focus on the hot pants, look at how rubbery the tissue is between the fingers.
That spongy appearance is a symptom of oedema.
How can you tell whether saddlebags are fibrous?
Quite simply, they are harder when felt and if you press with your finger right there under the skin you will feel a kind of stiff tissue structure.
Mistaking the dimples of adipose tissue for cellulite
Pinch:
ANYONE’s tissue will dimple when squeezed between the hand in that part of the thigh, even mine, and I can assure you I do not have cellulite.
But squeezing won’t get us anywhere.
So stop squeezing and instead observe:
- • The colour of your legs when you are standing up, paying special attention to your knees and feet. If after 30 seconds your feet and knees become purple, your microcirculation is probably a bit lazy, causing fluid stagnation.
- • The appearance of your skin when standing: if you don’t see orange-peel skin, you don’t have orange-peel skin, if orange-peel skin is there you can see it.
This is something to learn by heart, there is no hiding cellulite. If it’s there, you’ll see it. If you can’t see it, quite simply it isn’t there.
Here we have a nice stage 2/3 cellulite, which you can see in all its lumpy splendour:
I’ll leave you there.
With a few solutions, but not too many, because otherwise my book won’t have any surprises in store for you.
The most effective Veralab products for cellulite and lipoedema:
Remember that in all cases of oedema, and even with LIPOEDEMA, Slim_me bende and the entire Slim_me line are very effective for this type of problem.
For pure or fibrous saddlebags, on the other hand, my muds are far more effective.
Mad Mud, a mud that, thanks to its gentle warming effect, tricks the neurotransmitters, and stimulates the circulation in the area treated: it is perfect for fat pads and localised fat deposits.
Mad Mud Superhot, is a MAD MUD line product that releases even more heat.
It still acts on fat pads and localised fat deposits, but with a more intense heat effect.
Speciale Culotte de Cheval is the synergy of two active muds for Cellulite, containing active ingredients with an effective draining and reducing action on localised fat deposits and water retention.
I hope I have been helpful.
